Are your jewellery pieces all Hallmarked?
Rarely are precious metals (silver, palladium, gold, and platinum) utilised in their pristine form while making jewellery and silverware. Typically, they are alloyed with less valuable metals to create the necessary strength, durability, and colour. The precious metal content of an object cannot be determined by sight or touch. Prior to being described as silver, palladium, gold, or platinum, it is required by law that these materials be independently examined and hallmarked. Items must show a hallmark at the moment of sale, with the following exceptions for weight: Silver: Required for products weighing above 7.78 grammes. Gold: Required for products weighing above 1 gramme Palladium: Required for products more than 1 gramme Platinum: Required for products above 0.5 grammes HSC DIAMONDS is registered with the LONDON ASY OFFICE, assuring that our precious metal jewellery adheres to the United Kingdom's hallmarking laws. Before being shipped to our clients, everything of our inventory undergoes an internal inspection to guarantee that it complies with UK hallmarking standards. We are an Assay-Certified Jeweller. Assay Assured status is only granted to retailers who have been independently audited and verified by Assay Assured, which is managed and supervised by the Edinburgh Assay Office. This ensures that all precious metal jewellery (with the exception of items exempt by weight) is independently tested and hallmarked. Find out what a hallmark looks like. Click here
